Grandeur of the Heavens

by Jacque Watkins

Sundays are for declaring His majesty…

For seeing the grandeur of the heavens…

and for marveling at His mindfulness of me…

Psalm 8:1,3-9 (ESV)
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens…

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,

What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?

Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

May you declare His majesty, be in awe of His creation, and marvel in His mindfulness of you, this day, is my prayer.

What is your favorite part of God’s creation?

Hi Jacque and Happy Monday! Out of all the beauty of God’s creation, I suppose my most favorite is the dawn of the day, the rising of the sun. And when I watch as the sun rises and I note visibly how it gradually inches up above the horizon, I am humbled. Because none other than God’s great powerful hands move that sun and I am seeing Him at work as He blesses us with His beautiful creation. From that moment on, hundreds of blessings crowd in to my day, as I’m aware of His goodness all around me. Some things are very evident, such as the sunrise…and others, if we look closely, are minute, but no less miraculous and powerful…such as a hummingbird, or a ladybug on a leaf, or a child’s sweet, sleepy-eyed “I Love You”… Thank you, Jacque, for directing our thoughts toward God each and every day. Blessings to you as you bless us.
