This week I’m talking with Katie Orr, who is passionate about equipping women to walk with God for a lifetime. She is the author of three recently released Bible Studies entitled Everyday Hope, Everyday Love, and Everyday Faith, where she teaches us her FOCUS method–15 minutes every day, as we learn to love to study the Bible more.

Katie is an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher and speaker, a former Campus Crusade for Christ staff member, and the mother to three children. She’s also a pastor’s wife to her husband Chris, and resides in Kentucky with her family.

Katie has just begun to lead an online group of women through her book, Everyday Faith, and she would love if you would join their online Instagram community as they study together!

AND this week, we’re giving away THREE copies of Katie’s book Everyday Faith!

  • Homeschooling
  • Stay at home mothering & Part-time job mothering
  • The do’s-and-don’ts-taskmaster view of God
  • The wheel of “try-harder”

Katie shares about:

  • Her journey through depression
  • How medication and change of routine were helpful
  • Her experience learning to hear God speak through the Bible
  • The sudden unexpected tornado of grief after her brother died suddenly
  • And some helpful insight in the concept of walking through grief

Katie explains:

  • The power that comes from being in God’s Word
  • How the solution is not to try harder but to believe better
  • The value of scripture memory
  • The bird’s-eye view of scripture vs. the bug’s-life view
  • How starting small can be significant
  • And how to use the acronym FOCUS for 15 minutes everyday to help us learn to love to study the Bible

I’m so thankful for all Katie shares, and trust it will be an encouragement to you, no matter what in between place you are facing today.

Episode 88: My biggest challenge when reading the Bible is I love so much of it sometimes I take too much in at once. I get overwhelmed with so many good scriptures that I have a hard time deciding which one to go with.
