Podcast: Play in new window | Download

Mud Stories is a podcast dedicated to bringing you inspiration in your muddiest moments, hope to make it through your mud, and encouragement for you to know, you are not alone.

In today’s episode I’m talking with Courtney DeFeo—author, blogger, and speaker–wife to Ron, and mom to two darling girls. Courtney is a graduate of Auburn University and, prior to staying home with her girls, worked in marketing for Chick-Fil-A.

Courtney and her husband Ron live in Florida, and she is the author of a recently released book entitled In This House We Will Giggle: Making Virtues, Love, and Laughter a Daily Part of Your Family Life.

In this episode Courtney and I discuss:

  • Our mutual love for Disney
  • The different roles we juggle
  • The struggle it is to figure out where it is we find our identity
  • And all about her new book and how we can all grow in virtue through laughter and giggles

Courtney shares:

  • Her mud story of wrestling with identity
  • Her drive for affirmation
  • Our universal struggle with comparison with some tips to overcome it
  • And how surrendering our will to God makes way for Him to use each of us for really big things

Mud Stories 027:  May we grow in virtue this year with shared moments & laughter! #InThisHouseWeWillGiggle [Tweet that]

And after you listen, I’d be SO grateful if you’d take the time to give a rating or review over at iTunes, to help others find this podcast. (follow the instructions below) Enjoy!

SCRIPTURE:

Answer me quickly, O Lord! My spirit fails!
Hide not your face from me, lest I be like those who go down to the pit.
Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust.
Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.
Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord! I have fled to you for refuge.
Psalm 143: 7-9 (ESV)

[…] Mud Stories – If you think everyone is perfect and better than you – you just sign up for this one. Jacque interviews guests and ask them to share their “mud stories” – where your mess is redeemed. It’s so incredible. Our interview was so fun – as I talked through my mud and struggle of identity and comparison. You are not alone. […]
