God is in the business of giving good and perfect gifts—gifts I am sometimes unaware I even need.
Gifts that surprise me and overwhelm me, that drown me and sink me deep into His great love—His love with skin and flesh on … this, the body of Christ.
I know because I have experienced its marvelous beauty in this relevant place…and I’m counting the gifts…

#1043~A Southern belle, sitting next to me on that plane.
#1044~A Texan’s warm and genuine care and conversation.
#1045~Mothers of boys with open arms and welcoming grace.
#1046~My roommate, a New Yorker at home, considering others better than herself.
#1047~A piano master blessing with lyrical notes.
#1048~A kind friend, chasing blue skies with the warmth of her smile and her friendship.
#1048~A Divine appointment with a beautiful pilot’s wife.
#1049~A good girl sharing her freedom and grace.
#1050~A joyful mother sharing homeschool insights.
#1051~Talks with Lindsey, Cara, and Annie late into the night.
#1052~A Simple mom explaining how to find our element.
#1053~A South African helping us find our voice.
#1054~A petite quiet soul and her wonderful book , and her urging me to write my story.
#1055~A friend shouting and declaring, always alleluia.
#1056~A singer to our emptiness, of how emptiness sings.
#1057~A nurse with a kindred spirit, lifting up words, and lunch with beautiful friends.
#1058~A beautiful Indonesian teaching us to not be afraid, to be real and to always trust.
#1059~A talented photographer with an extravagantly inclusive heart.
#1060~A night of Compassion moving to bless with humor and song.
#1061~Moving and inspiring speakers and mentors.
#1062~And our friend, Ann—full of grace—challenging us all to be His thunder in our own wilderness…pointing to His rain in our little spaces…and growing gardens of beauty.
He alone gives good and perfect gifts, and if I look with my eyes wide open I will see them…
James 1:17 (NASB) Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.
and I have seen them…
and they are extravagant!
