Returning Home to Goodness

A mama’s heart is never far from home, no matter how far away she is.

And I’m running home to the smiles and embraces, to the silly hands and smudge-filled spaces—A return to all that fills and inspires and stretches and teaches…

And Sundays are for returning home, to rest in surrender to His goodness, to Him who is faithful in using our very lives, for His glory alone.

Psalm 116:7 (NIV)
Return to your rest, my soul,
for the LORD has been good to you.

May you return in surrender to Him this day, returning home to rest in His goodness, is my prayer.

Firmly Planted in Him

Sundays are for being firmly planted

 and prospering in Him…

Psalm 1:1-3 (NASB)
How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.
He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season, And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.

May you be blessed this day…

  • as you delight in Him,
  • as you meditate in His law,
  • as you yield fruit in your season,
  • and as you prosper…

The Path of Life

Sundays are for seeing His path and for

walking joyfully with Him…

Psalm 16:11 (ESV)
You make known to me the path of life;
In Your presence there is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

May you experience, this day, all the joy and pleasure that can only be found in walking the path He has for you, is my prayer…

What joys have you been experiencing on your path?

Grandeur of the Heavens

Sundays are for declaring His majesty…

For seeing the grandeur of the heavens…

and for marveling at His mindfulness of me…

Psalm 8:1,3-9 (ESV)
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens…

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,

What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?

Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

May you declare His majesty, be in awe of His creation, and marvel in His mindfulness of you, this day, is my prayer.

What is your favorite part of God’s creation?

Satisfied for ALL He gives

Sundays are for giving thanks for His unfailing love, and for being satisfied with ALL that He gives…

Psalm 107:8-9 (NIV)
 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men,
for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

This day, may you rest and be satisfied, in Him, and His unfailing love, and may you give thanks to Him for ALL He gives…

What are you thanking Him for today?

Quieted with His Love

Sundays are for knowing He is with us, and for our hearts being quieted by His overwhelming and amazing love…

Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV)
The LORD your God is with you,
He is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
He will quiet you with his love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.

May your heart know He is with you…that He IS mighty to save, and may you be quieted with His love as He sings over you this day, is my prayer.

How have you been overwhelmed by His love?

Being Held in His Hand

Sundays are for looking to Him, and knowing He will strengthen and help you and uphold you with His righteous right hand…

Isaiah 41:10  (NASB)
‘Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not anxiously look about you,
for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
surely I will help you,
Surely I will uphold you
with My righteous right hand.’

May you surrender any anxiety and fear this day, and know He is holding you in His righteous right hand.

How has He strengthened and helped you?

Satisfied in the Morning

Sundays are for being satisfied in the morning with His steadfast love…

 Psalm 90:14, 17 (ESV)
Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!

May your heart be satisfied by His unwavering love this day and may you rejoice and be glad in it!

What is your heart rejoicing about today?

With Hearts Kneeled and Bowed Down

Sundays are for singing and worshipping…

For bowing down…

And kneeling before the Lord our God, our Maker…

Psalm 95:1-7 (NASB)
O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord,
Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving,
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.
For the Lord is a great God
And a great King above all gods,
In whose hand are the depths of the earth,
The peaks of the mountains are His also.
The sea is His, for it was He who made it,
And His hands formed the dry land.
Come, let us worship and bow down,
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
For He is our God,
And we are the people of His pasture
and the sheep of His hand.

May your heart be full of joy and awe, as you worship and sing, and kneel…and bow your heart before our Maker…

What song is your heart singing this day?

Lift up your eyes

Sundays are for lifting our eyes to Him, our Keeper…

Psalm 121:1-8  (NASB)
I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
From where shall my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to slip;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun will not smite you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
The Lord will protect you from all evil;
He will keep your soul.
The Lord will guard your going out
and your coming in,
From this time forth and forever.

As you lift your eyes to Him, may you sense His protection and keeping this day, is my prayer…

How has the Lord been your protector, and the keeper of your soul?
